2025 WOMEN'S EASTERN SENIOR CHAMPIONSHIP
OCTOBER 14-16 | THE EMERALD GOLF CLUB | NEW BERN, NC 28562
Fourth time for a "Hart" of a Champion!
Kristyl Sunderman fired an opening round 74 to lead by one over defending champion Kathy Hartwiger. Kim Keyer-Scott came out firing on day two posting a two under par 70 to put herself in the final pairing with Kathy Hartwiger trailing by just a single stroke. Toni Notaro also shot under par on day two (71) and placed herself just three back of the defending champion. Notaro was the only player to post an even round score (72) on the final day but it wouldn't be good enough to hold off Kathy Hartwiger who shot 75 and won by two to claim the title and her third Eastern Senior Championship in a row.

KATHY HARTWIGER
Holds on to Win 2025 Women's Eastern Senior Championship
Kathy Hartwiger’s name may not yet be a household one in the broader world of golf, but for those following the senior circuit, it’s becoming one of increasing prominence. Currently ranked 910th in the world and 10th in the United States among Senior women golfers aged 50 and over, Hartwiger’s performance on the course in 2025 has been nothing short of impressive. From strong finishes in key tournaments to qualifying for major events, the North Carolina native has proven herself as a formidable competitor on the senior women’s golf scene.
A Stellar Start to 2025
Hartwiger’s year started with a strong performance at the Jones Dougherty Senior Women’s Amateur Championship in January, where she secured a solid 17th-place finish. Although not a top-ten showing, it was an encouraging result to begin the season, setting the stage for what would be a series of standout performances in the months that followed.
